Abigail “Gail” Planta

As the Digital Communications Designer with Advance Maryland, Gail creates visual stories that amplify communities fighting for justice, equity, and opportunity across the state.

Since joining the team in December 2023, she has supported statewide coalitions through strategic design and media outreach that centers marginalized experiences and connects policy to real life. Her work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to see themselves represented in the movements shaping our future.

Gail earned their Bachelor’s Degree in Art from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, with a double minor in Art History and Film & Media Studies. Their skills in graphic design, visual storytelling, and content creation are central to developing compelling materials that resonate with diverse audiences both online and offline.

Born and raised in Prince George’s County, she spent time in the Baltimore area before moving to Southern Maryland. This experience living across different regions of Maryland grounds their work in the lived experiences of diverse communities throughout the state.

Outside of professional work, Gail enjoys listening to music and spending time with family and friends. They love exploring the DMV area, always on the lookout for new spaces, local gems, and creative inspiration.
